This shocking footage shows a father carelessly going through traffic and failing to notice when his little son had fallen off the back.
The incident in which the driver behind had to slam on his brakes and the boy then ran after the vanishing bike was captured on a driver’s dash cam as he was travelling behind them on the street in Yunnan Province, in south-western China.
In the video, the parent can be seen riding along the left-most lane with the toddler sitting behind.
Suddenly, as he approached a turn, the child lost balance and toppled onto the tarmac.
Astonishingly, the dad did not seem to notice and kept on moving while the little boy helplessly yelled and chased after him.
Luckily, the driver who travelled behind saw the boy fall and hit the brakes before he accidentally ran over him, then followed after the motorcyclist father to let him know he lost his son in traffic.
Many users on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, criticised the parent over his seemingly careless behaviour.
One user titled ‘Outer Soul 28’ commented: “With such a father raising a child, it would be great if the child is still alive. He has no sense of responsibility and is not worthy of being a father.”
User ‘I am your sister╮’ said: “I don’t dare let my five-year-old son sit in the back just because I’m worried about this problem.”
And ‘Zhuangxiang Amei’ wrote: “Such people don’t deserve to have children.”
