The video shows the moment a man riding an electric bike stops dead when the front wheel gets stuck on a drain cover, and he face-plants seconds before the vehicle ends up riding on top of him.
In the footage, the motorcyclist can be seen suddenly losing balance after bumping into the grate, after which he falls on his head as the vehicle lands on top of him.
He then frees himself from underneath the e-bike uninjured and says: “F*ck!”
The incident happened in front of a car wash at a parking lot in the city of Shenzhen, in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong, on 2nd December.
Social media users did not hold back from commenting on the importance of safety awareness and how bikers should never take their helmets off while riding.
One user, named ‘Dongguan Iron and Steel’ said: This drain cover should have been changed by the shop itself.”
User ‘squidsquidsquid’ commented: “I was almost the same as him once, except I hit a pillar, and I wore a safety helmet.
“The car had a flat tire, and the wheel hub was bent. It cost between CNY 300 and 400 [GBP 33 and 44] to repair the car, and I also repaired the mobile phone.
“The total loss was more than CNY 1,000 [GBP 111].”
And ‘Wandering’ added: “The entrance to this store is purely dangerous!”
