This is the dramatic moment a group of cruise ship passengers rescue a man who had apparently fallen overboard from a cruise ship.
The incident reportedly occurred off the coast of Zhoushan, an urbanised archipelago located in China’s eastern province of Zhejiang.
A group of passengers had been looking out towards the sea when they noticed someone was floating in the water.
They immediately alerted the ship’s captain, but by that point, the massive ship had already moved on; however, the captain decided to turn back and search for the man before he was carried further away by the waves.
Incredibly, the people on board the ship managed to quickly locate the man adrift and rescued him before he drowned or swept further away.
Video footage of the final moments of the 15th May rescue as crew members and a few passengers tossed him a lifeline.
With the help of a rope, they managed to pull him up and safely bring him aboard without any apparent injuries.
It is unclear how the man wound up in the middle of the sea in the first place and online commentators like ‘Huyu’ said: “The man who fell into the water is a very good swimmer.”
And user ‘Gulia Ding’ said: “He was so lucky to encounter a ship and a group of enthusiastic people who rescued him. He has been drifting in the sea for who knows how long.”
While the user ‘We Chat Is Not Allowed To Use Ma Xiaohu’ said: “This guy’s physical strength and water skills are top-notch.”
