This hair-raising footage showing hundreds of black crows flying in circles above a hospital sparked worries among social media users that it might be a sign something ominous is about to happen.
The strange scene was reportedly captured by a woman, who was not named, who lives across the hospital in Changchun, in China’s north-eastern Jilin Province.
This strange scene lasted for about four or five minutes.
According to the woman, hundreds of crows were circling in the sky, as if performing a silent performance.
She said the odd scene lasted for about four or five minutes before the birds dispersed, adding she had never seen such a thing before and it felt very strange.
The sight of a large flock of birds hovering above the hospital has attracted widespread attention on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok.
Some netizens dubbed it as a wonderful phenomenon in nature, while others wondered if it might be a bad omen.
One user titled ‘Xianren’ commented: “The son of Hades is coming to earth and eternal night is coming.”
While user ‘Fusu·’ wrote: “The protagonist of a novel is being born.”
And ‘cold chic’ said: “Animals always know things before humans do. If you don’t understand something for a long time, just ignore it. I hope our country’s mountains and rivers are safe and everyone is safe.”
According to experts, this phenomenon may be caused by birds getting lost during migration or weather changes.
They also reminded citizens to keep a safe distance when observing birds and avoid disturbing them.
