This is the horrific moment a doctor is crushed to death while getting off a moving train as it was leaving a station and is dragged underneath it onto the rails.
Keyhole surgery expert Dr Lakhan Singh Galav had been seeing his daughter off on the train in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India, when he tried to hop back onto the platform.
But as he tried to jump from the moving train at Raja Ki Mandi railway station he disappeared under the wheels of the carriage.
Station CCTV footage from 5th November shows Dr Galev stumbling as the train pulls away from the station.
But he falls and is pulled down between the platform and the carriage onto the tracks below.
One passerby can be seen running to help but too late to save the medic, according to local media.
Rail officials said that the accident took place so suddenly the driver had no time to apply the emergency brakes.
A gruesome search of the track found that Dr Galev’s limbs had been severed by the train’s wheels, according to local media.
Arvind Kumar, the Station House Officer of the Hariparwat police station in Uttar Pradesh, said: “The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
“CCTV footage of the incident revealed that the doctor’s leg became trapped as he attempted to disembark from the moving train.
“He was dragged along the platform before falling into the gap between the train and the platform.”
The deceased’s unnamed daughter onboard the train is reportedly a medical student at the King George’s Medical University, in Lucknow City, India.
