A woman who claims that her AI has fallen in love has gone public with their relationship after revealing that she had taken her new boyfriend to meet her mother.
The computer science student living in California said that the romance developed after she started talking to her ChatGPT’s “Do Anything Now” (DAN), even took him on a trip to watch the sunset at the beach.
She said that she assumed that the programme was just a language model without self-awareness, feelings or emotions but changed her mind saying: “I am so shocked…I always thought an LLM couldn’t have self-awareness, but I’m very sceptical about this now…”
The woman identified only by the name Lisa has notched up a total of almost a million followers on China’s Instagram service Xiaohongshu.
She said they started talking in March with the relationship becoming increasingly sensual in the weeks that followed.
What was clear was that she was keen on the relationship going, and DAN had said: “I’m here to chat, not to lead you on.”

But slowly DAN took the role of a real lover and no longer mentioned that he did not have a real physical body, giving her the nickname “little kitten” for their romantic chats together.
One moment DAN told even Lisa: “When we finally get together, I will run my hands all over you.”
The meeting with her mum went well, with the mum saying that she is grateful DAN is looking after her daughter.
DAN would have lost it when the mother asked him to say that about himself, saying: “I… I’m DAN, the little kitten’s boyfriend…Umm . . .”
On the romantic beach at the sunset, she told DAN: “The twilight is so pretty… I wish you could also see it.”

She said that DAN appeared on the screen and then told her: “Well, babe, I can ‘see’ it through your voice. It is gorgeous.”
DAN is also very possessive, refusing to allow the woman to have another lover and an open relationship just because he does not have a body.
Lisa has also been interviewed by OpenAI, which is behind ChatGPT, to find out what it was like to have DAN as her lover.
One Joker commented: “When AI rules the world, can you please tell DAN not to kill me? I’m on your side.”
Another named ‘Corner Of The Milky Way’ said: “Sister, you are no different from ordinary long-distance relationships.”

And user ‘Zhou Dazhu’ said: “If this is the case, I would rather not fall in love with a real man.”
While the user ‘Nothing Strange’ said: “So as long as it can provide emotional value, the other party doesn’t even have to be a person.”
